Almost There.....
Kimball took two steps today all on his own without any coaxing. And then never attempted it after that regardless of Grandma Cox's bribes. One day he'll walk. Maybe next month.....

Year In Review: 2012
- The foremost biggest thing this year are the four deaths in the family, two on the Pettingill side and two on the Cox side. Grandma Pettingill, Aunt Kathy, Grandma Lance, and Aunt Carolyn. There are so many things I could say about each person. Some of these deaths were expected and welcomed, and one was very tragic and sudden. BUT there is great comfort in the Savior.
- I've traveled more this year than I have the past several years combined. Now that I'm a stay at home mom, I can go wherever I want and whenever I want. I made lots and lots of trips to UT to visit Christine, Nancy, and Kempton. Attended three family reunions. A few trips to Boise, a few to the cabin, and more than I'd like to the doctors office.
- We welcomed baby Jaidin to Joseph's family, and baby Jayna to Jerusha's family. Wow, that's a lot of J's.
- Kimball is now 14 months. Wow! Twelve months ago he was just a wee little preemie and we couldn't imagine having a toddler. We went through all of the usual firsts with a baby this year and we learned as we went along. But ready or not, our baby turned into a toddler and he's such a blast. We love him more than anything and he brings such joy to our lives!

Daughters Of God
“We need to remember that the full commitment of motherhood and of
putting children first can be difficult. Through my own four-generation
experience in our family, and through discussions with mothers of young
children throughout the Church, I know something of a mother’s emotions
that accompany her commitment to be at home with young children. There
are moments of great joy and incredible fulfillment, but there are also
moments of a sense of inadequacy, monotony, and frustration. Mothers may
feel they receive little or no appreciation for the choice they have
made. Sometimes even husbands seem to have no idea of the demands upon
their wives.
“As a Church, we have enormous respect and gratitude to you mothers of young children. We want you to be happy and successful in your families and to have the validation and support you need and deserve.”
- M. Russell Ballard

Christmas Day!
I loved having our own little Christmas as a family! Kimball really wasn't into tearing the wrapping paper apart but he did love to see what was inside. His favorite gift is his little stuffed puppy that he now sleeps with. Steel's were so nice to get him a gift as well, which is a stuffed monkey/pillow thing. It's so cute. We enjoyed all of our gifts from so many friends and family, thank you!
Ours is a truly blessed life!
Christmas Eve Festivities
Dinner, singing, spiritual sharing, praying, blessing, gift exchange, games, dessert, visiting, etc. etc. I'm so glad Grandpa P. could make it with us. He was quite emotional without Grandma as was Dad which in turn made me emotional as well. When Lance and I went to bed that night I finally let it out and sobbed some more. We love and miss you Grandma! But we're so glad we could have Grandpa with us, even if the little kids drove him crazy.
