Summer Vacation Part 1

The kids and I packed up and headed for Twin Falls on a 6 week long vacation. There are too many reunions and campouts back to back that it wouldn't be worth it to go back and forth from TF to Spokane.

First stop was Boise to attend the Watson Reunion although I didn't get very many pictures at all.

We headed to Mom's house where we stayed in between trips and Christine stayed for a while with us too. The kids sure had a great time being together.

Kimball asked Grandma Cox if he could have a treat from her piano room. Grandma said, "You can if you stand on your head for 10 seconds." Kimball didn't catch her sarcasm so he promptly and literally stood on his head for 10 seconds as best he could.
Lance flew into SLC where Kempton picked him up for the Cox reunion and those two had a day together without any kids. They visited this house: John's grandfather's (Nathan Olaf Kempton) mother lived there with her second husband (Thomas Vincent) after Nathan Alvin was killed in an explosion. Her name was Josephine Hedenberg. The Loveless house that was recently moved to the Pioneer Village was the oldest house in Provo still in use. The grandfather of John's grandmother, Annie Loveless Kempton. (Check out that baby carriage!)
So here is Lance standing at the same house, same spot, the oldest house in Provo that's still in use. Pretty cool!
Our next trip was to Bear Lake where we all rented a cabin for the Cox Reunion. These pictures are all out of order but the first day we went to the beach on the UT side...it was super rocky and so windy and utterly COLD!! It was sure pretty though. The next day we went to the beach on the ID side which was not nearly as painful to walk on and it's a very shallow beach. It was cold again but we still had a good time. The cabin belongs to some kind of community where we had access to tennis courts and a swimming pool, the kids liked that pool better because it wasn't nearly as cold as the lake. Sydnee and Kimball sure had a good time swimming together, they're like two little fish. Bonnie cooked us some amazing meals and treats, Donna had a scavenger hunt for the kids, and we had a family sing along led by Lance on the ukulele (my favorite part).
