Lance checked something off his bucket list. Although he's been up in several private planes before, he actually did the flying this time! A friend in our ward, Tyler Ives, called Lance up early one morning and asked if he'd like to go with him and Lance jumped on the opportunity. He conquered his one fear - stalling and recovery exercises. When you stall an airplane it doesn't mean the engine stalls, it means you are flying at an upward angle that the lift can no longer support, so the plane goes into a nose dive and you have to recover it. Lance receovered 3 times.
Getting some yard work done and the weather was actually warm enough to play in the sprinklers. Cora's idea of playing in the sprinklers is to use the umbrella.
Kimball started baseball and this is the first time he's played on a team. We tried last year but then it got canceled due to COVID. He's learned a lot of new skills including the non-physical ones like teamwork, encouraging your teammates, patience, listening intently to coach, etc. They rotate positions each inning but Kimball's favorite is pitching, that kid has a good arm! We've only got two games left of the spring season and I'm sad to see it come to a close, we have all enjoyed it so much!
I checked in on Kimball before I went to bed and I found his uniform layed out all neatly in preparation for his first game the next day.
Cora started a spring cheerleading class and has loved it. I wasn't sure how she would do but she surprised me. The first practice she walked right in and joined a group, I was amazed. There's about 25 girls so they're split into two groups. Cora does an incredible job and I was proud to see her social skills without me prompting her.

Cora's doing a really great job in reading therapy. We go twice a week, one is in person and one is virtual from home. Of course in person is always better but I'll take what I can get. The more she goes, the more I see what gaps are in her reading. She can't rhyme at all, the concept is just too hard for her to grasp no matter how much we focus on it. She has some struggles with auditory processing and doesn't hear all of the sounds in a word which also affects spelling. But she's doing so well with it and Lisa is a great teacher for her!

Easter!! We had an egg hunt with Julie, Liz, Chris, and Jean's families and I hosted dinner that night as well. We haven't been together as a group for nearly a year and it was so fun to catch up with everyone, visit, eat, laugh, play, and eat some more.
As we taught the kids about the resurrection for easter we watched The Lamb of God video to serve as a good visual for the kids. I looked over at Cora and the poor thing kept coverying her eyes during the crucifiction. It just broke her heart to see Jesus treated like that and she couldn't bare to watch it. What a gentle reminder it was for me.
