New Year Happenings

We have been replacing all the old, brown 1979 doors in the house with new ones and I can't believe how much more modern it looks. With the boxes from the doors we've been having epic box forts and slides down the stairs.

After the first day back to school from Christmas break we surprised the kids by picking them up from school and went sledding. So much fun!!! Lance has pretty good bruises on his back but I had no casualties. Then we went to dinner at Caruso's.

Two days ago we got 8" of snow in one night so school was canceled. Snow play, hot chocolate, and warm baths all around, even for Murphy.

New Hardware

This poor kid! Three days after Christmas he received his top braces and palatial expanders on the top and bottom of his teeth. He's been a real champ, not complaining too much, very little pain, although he's really only been eating yogurt. The excess saliva has been unreal - he slurps literally every 3 seconds but now that we are almost 2 weeks in with it, the salivary glands have calmed down. He also has quite a lisp.

Kimball has a very narrow bite in the shape of a U so this expander set is supposed to widen his bite like a rainbow arch shape. The braces he'll have for 2 years which is typical but I'm hoping he doesn't have to wear the expander that long!
