Silver Mountain Resort - Spring Break

The hour drive into Kellogg, ID was absolutely stunning. It had just snowed that morning and it gave the most beautiful sparkle to all the pine trees.

We toured an old gold mine from 1886 that only 4 men dug out. They had struck gold in the quartz veins! The only worked on it for 3 years before they blasted the side of the mountain closed so nobody knew it was there. In the 1960's the area was discovered and preserved as a museum of these 4 miners.

Here is their old rail cart

The cutest miner I ever did see

Gold!
More gold!
The old mining equipment that was found in the mine.

Dinner!
On the gondola ride! This ride went 3 miles up the mountain and when all we could see were clouds, we'd go through those clouds and just find more mountain to climb, it was never ending. The view was BREATHTAKING!!!

They also have a large indoor water park so every afternoon and late into the evening we played at the water park for HOURS. Needless to say all the water fun tuckered us out and we all slept really well when we got home. It was such a great spring break and we were surprised how close it was to our house.
