15 Year Anniversary

This year I surprised Lance with passes to go zip lining through the trees of Coeur d'Alene. Now, neither of us have been zip lining and we are both quite afraid of heights. But I knew this would definitely be a bucket list item and it surely did not disappoint!

After we met up with the tour group we took a 30 minute shuttle ride to the base of the mountain and another ATV ride to the top of the mountain. We literally zipped from tree top to tree top! This tour had 7 lines to zip and they started out easy and progressively got more risky and breath taking. At the very top of these super tall ponderosa pines were platforms that we zipped to and those platforms were far scarier than the actual zip line. It was a breezy day but being that high up on a tree, the wind made the tree and platform sway and it was scary. There were also two very high but narrow bridges to walk across.

I tell you though, those views were absolutely stunning and you felt on top of the world. The very last run was a quarter mile long and you were about 450 feet above the ground. Oh what a rush! This is an absolute must do, must see for anyone visiting Coeur d'Alene. It was so fun and so amazing!

We returned back to CDA and ate dinner downtown by the resort where there were (and still are 4 months later) protests/rioting/looting going on all over the country about BLM. As we ate dinner there was a public protest scheduled in the town and as we ate we saw all these conservative country bumpkin folk come out with their guns and flags, all ready to protect the local businesses from rioting crimes. I guess we got dinner and a show, haha. Lance loved them so he had to get a picture with them.
