Summer Vacation - Part 1

In May Benton came to live with us for the summer and work for Lance. Allison wanted him to have a little bit of experience on his own before his mission to Riverside CA and Lance was hiring so it worked out perfectly. The kids LOVE Benton, especially Ezra. Because Lance is staffed well at the moment with Benton working for him, it allows for him to take some actual time off. Lance took TWO WEEKS off!!!

Lance drove with us down to Boise for the Cox reunion. We did swimming, bowling, lots of eating and visiting, and Donna's usual grand kid games.

Then we headed to Twin Falls to look at every body's new houses - Tim moved out by the new hospital, Joseph moved further south into Kimberly on some acreage, Brad updated the interior of his house, Sally's family moved to Kimberly from AZ, and Stephanie extended their kitchen out 14 feet. Whew, lots of houses to see! When we stopped at Stephanie's house, Conrad was ready to install the flooring so we ordered in pizza and ice cream and Lance helped install the floor.

That weekend we headed to Elba for the Lynn Pettingill reunion where we drove four wheelers, played games, kickball, went swimming, Lance and Kimball slept under the stars, Kimball went shooting, etc.

Little boy heaven - bullet casings and bones
The third week Lance flew back home to get back to work. The kids and I stayed and Christine's family did also. Christine froze some little toys in large ice cubes and the kids picked it apart using Grandpa's tools, they really loved that activity. We also went to the Shoshone Ice Caves where there was no ice and it was 103 degrees that day. It was HOT and the trip wasn't really worth it (whining, crying, bickering, squatting and pooping in the city hall front lawn, more whining) but we tried to make the best of it anyway. We also did a shaving cream slip n slide.
