Girls Trip Recap

Shopping! (My feet hurt and we were getting hungry).

Chick flicks and beauty sleep.

Clay facial masques, love these! We weren't grumpy although we look like it. Our skin was tight so we couldn't smile very easily. We also dyed KoLei's hair and painted our toes!

Operation: A Little R & R

I'm going on a girls trip with my sister in-laws and mom to UT to visit Christine tomorrow. No boys. No kids. Just us girls......shopping, eating, shopping, watching chic flicks, shopping, visiting, laughing, shopping, staying up late, shopping, and more shopping.

Count them - 25 hours and 45 minutes before we leave

Snow? There's supposed to be a storm? Probably. Since when does the weather ever cooperate with plans? There's no stopping us! We are going on this trip and I've been looking forward to it for 3 months! Move over Stephen, the girls are coming and we're kicking you out!! (No offense Christine).

Oh What A Night do, do, do, do, do....

Feeling good tonight. Not only did I get home from work and get straight to slaving on a delish dinner, but instead of watching tv all night and sulking in my unproductiveness, I made yummy banana bread and then exercised for 20 minutes..........no, 30 minutes.........no............45 minutes!

GO ME!!!

I am stamping this day away. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Nougat of Sweet Wisdom

"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will — to your surprise — miss them profoundly."

- President Thomas S. Monson

Radical Ring Pops

Lately this little guy has been my constant buddy. He's so tiny with the blondest hair and the bluest eyes. He's so cuddly and so irresistibly adorable! I wish I recorded his laugh, it's so dang cute and absolutely contagious. :) Melts my heart every time.

I promised Joseph's kids a long time ago that they'd get a surprise if they went to bed when I asked them to while I was babysitting one night. (Yes, bribery makes an awesome aunt)! I will say they were disappointed I didn't bring them an activity/craft to make, but they'd never had a ring pop before so they were a little antsy to try one.
Instantly fell in love with their large, tasty jewelry.
Quentin especially loved his ring pop.
Peytin loved his ring pop as well. After a while he kinda turned......weird. Like, he wasn't Peytin anymore.
Too much sugar, he turned into a zombie that wouldn't respond to anything. (Note to self).

Quarter Century Crisis

This morning after my shower I blow dried, straightened my hair and pulled the front part of it back, getting ready to apply my make up. As usual for some reason I leaned over the sink so I could get a close up of myself in the mirror. (Why do I do this every time I shower? I'm suddenly asking myself {right this minute} this question even though I've done it for years. What's with the obsession of looking closely at myself in the mirror and then getting totally grossed out at what I see? You'd think I'd learn)! Hmmm, that's a little funny...............what's that kinda shiny thing in my hair? Taking a closer look: lint from the towel? Shampoo and/or conditioner I didn't rinse out very well? Some other alien object that Trish's boys got stuck in there, like a piece of Ring Pop? I separated my hairs to locate and discover what this shiny thing was.

GASP!!!! Are you kidding me?!

Is that really a gray hair??? I frantically separate the hairs quicker and find that it is indeed a non-towel-lint strand of hair. I'm only 25 what the heck is it doing in my head? I quickly pulled it out and examined it precisely......maybe it's just a really blond hair, I hope?! Part of it is brown like it should be from the last dye I used a few months ago, but then a definite white/blond color which I don't think is blond because the pit in my stomach tells me otherwise. I anxiously went through the rest of my hair to see if there was any more. Nope. And what an odd place for a gray hair, behind my ear but higher up toward the top of my head. I thought gray hairs start around the ears and temples. I found the appropriate place for this strand of hair and quickly flushed it down.

As I've been thinking about this all morning and debating whether to blog about it, I thought it's no body's business if I have gray hair and if they find out then they will know I dye my hair but not necessarily for the purpose of covering grays. But then I thought, when I'm old and go back to read this journal, how sad will it be if I don't document my first sight of my very first gray hair? That would be sad and I would like to reflect back and make fun of myself for being so dramatic. But................... it WAS a gray hair and I'm ONLY 25 years old people!

Jigglers (Not Jello)

I'm having a fat day, actually several consecutive fat months. I've gained weight and I can't fit into my pants any more. My skirts are too tight, my belt is too small, and my shirts suddenly aren't wide enough at the arms or the waist (to cover my big behind). My arms wave back at me and every inch of me jiggles. Blog land is so inspiring with stories of achieving exercise goals but when I think about working out I just want to sit and eat a whole bag of peanut butter m&ms. This is not good, I've got to do something about it!

Printables

You know all those super cute freebie printables that you see all over blog land? I figured out how to make one. My only question is, why didn't someone tell me how sooner? I like simplicity and these are simple for sure. Kind of addictive, give it a shot at picnik.com

A Little Indulgence

I've always loved these delicious little treats. Light, fluffy, chocolaty, creamy, decadent. After this long and difficult week, I got us a box to enjoy this evening as we settled in. Lance thinks the way I eat these is so weird but to me its delicious! I turn the cupcake over and eat the cake around the creamy center, leaving the creamy center exposed to be devoured by itself. Then I eat the rest of the cake which leaves only the frosting left. It's delicious and I love tasting each textured part by itself. How do you eat your Hostess Cup Cake?

Vacation Deals?

I keep having vivid dreams that we moved back to Chas and/or that we went back to visit. Last night I had a dream that Christine and Scott and myself went to Myrtle Beach and got lost trying to find Broadway at the Beach. I don't know if its because I'm anticipating our trip or if its the love that I have for the time we lived there. Either way, for Lance's graduation gift I'm going to use our tax return to go back to Chas to visit for a week or so. Now, there are pros and cons to every situation and some people probably think we're idiots for not using our tax return to pay down student loans or medical bills. Which in a way is true for sure. But on the other hand, when will we have another opportunity to go back and visit? And with a license and few degrees in hand, what better way to say great job and I'm so proud of you, than a visit to loverly Chas? To me the pros definitely outweigh the cons and I'm hoping to accomplish both things with our tax return: get away together to Chas and pay down some debt.

Several months ago I read that Southwest is a new airline carrier for the Chas airport and around March tickets are supposedly uber cheap. Like $30-100 uber cheap! I've got my eye on them and I'm shopping around for the best deal. Car rentals and hotels, anybody seen any deals out there?

Charleston, these two Idahoan's are coming your way and we are beyond thrilled!
