Mission Accomplished

What do you do when you receive recipes? For example handouts from RS, emails from friends/family, pinterest recipes, magazine cut outs, stacks of mini "recipe books", etc. etc. I, for one, just shove them in the cupboard next to my  recipe books and card box, and so for the past 12 years I've had one heap of a mess of papers. Some of them I've never tried. Some of them have become favorites and regulars on our menu. There's certainly a bunch of digging going on to find that one to-die-for recipe of Crystal A.'s sugar cookies with cream cheese frosting.

I've always made it a goal to organize my recipe's "when I'm a mom." Well, motherhood came two years ago and that stack of loose recipes kept on piling up and getting more and more chaotic.

Last week I decided to tackle the recipe mess. I reviewed every recipe in that monstrous stack and either threw it out, or typed it up and printed it on card stock for my recipe card box. I was surprised how many recipes I have that I've never tried and sound amazingly, mouth wateringly delicious. I was surprised at how many duplicates I had. I was surprised at how many were in my 15 year old handwriting; yeah those got typed up.

Cross that one off my to do list.  :)
